Tyler Lockwood  Michael Trevino was born in Valencia, CA on January 25 1985. His mother was originally from Zacatecas, Mexico and his father was raised in Fresno, CA... Michael grew up in Los Angeles though. When he began acting, he got a few guest starring roles on the shows “Charmed” and “Summerland” and in 2005 got his first film role-playing a milk farmer’s son, Jackson Meade in the Disney film “Cow Bells”. He has landed reoccurring roles in various television series, such as “90210” as Ozzie Cardozo, “The Riches”, as the high-school student Brent, “Cane” as Jaime Vega. Michael has also had appearances on other series like “Bones”, “Cold Case”, “Without A Trace”, “Charmed” and “CSI”, “CSI: NY” & “CSI: Miami” as well. Michael just completed a film called “The Factory” with John Cusack & Mae Whitman. The film revolves around an obsessed cop & his partner who are on the trail of a serial killer in Buffalo, NY. Michael plays the role of Tad. The film is due to be released later in 2010. Michael is currently playing the role of who might arguably be our next favorite werewolf. Any of you that have read the books know that the character Tyler is based on Tyler Smallwood. Like Smallwood, OUR Tyler Lockwood is dark & handsome, a bit of a jerk, but is still the mayor’s son. In addition, still has not yet to be revealed, he is a werewolf, a part that seems to come together when Michael Trevino got the role. You can tell when Tyler popped on the scene that there was something different about him, something deep, dark and brooding. Maybe it was due in part of the dysfunctional family dynamic that he had with his mother & father. Maybe it was just that he was a bully. Yes, it came off as arrogance & attitude, but maybe Vicki saw something we did not. Tyler played Vicki Donovan’s ex-boyfriend, which put him in the position of being Matt Donovan’s ‘sort of’ friend and Jeremy Gilbert’s rival, because of Jeremy’s ‘relationship’ with Vicki. Some of Tyler’s brooding now may be regrets due to the fact he cannot make up for the way he treated Vicki, now that she is dead. Angst and anger flows just below his surface and make the unknown werewolf in him bubble up every so often. Tyler is acting out, for example, his anger at his father, and his make-out session with Matt’s mother. Which in turn led to the end of Matt & Tyler’s friendship? We will see when season 2 comes about... Although we could have a new anger, if anything happens to Caroline. All and all, I for one am excited to see Michael Trevino expand his role as a were… taking the dark broodiness to the next level, Tyler... We are all behind you. Arrogance and all!
