A TVD EXPERIENCE: NY COMIC CON 2010

Living in New York City without a doubt has its perks.  A variety of entertainment is among us.  For fans of actors, musicians, and writers alike we are often visited by those we usually only admire from our T.V screens.  With this knowledge, I readily assumed New York would be one of the first cities The Vampire Diaries Cast would visit during their Hot Topic Tour in 2009.  I was wrong.  Life lesson learned:
NEVER ASSUME ANYTHING.

You can imagine my disappointment when we entered season two, more Hot Topic Tour dates were announced and again New York was not on the list.  To my surprise, however, Kat Graham restored my faith in the city when she announced during a U-stream that she and some of her co-stars would be attending NY's annual Comic Con event.  "FINALLY!" I thought and immediately purchased my ticket.  I could not miss out on possibly the only opportunity I would ever have to meet the people who unknowingly have changed my life.  It is with all thanks to them I have met friends that I will keep for a lifetime.

I entered the door to the lobby of the Jacob Javits Center, and above me hung a sign "Welcome To The One & Only New York Comic Con."  The butterflies built as I made my way up the line to the ticket desk.  After running through hallways like a chicken missing its head I found the panel room, just in the nick of time to see most of what seems to be the most exciting promo yet made for this series.  Moonstones, stakes, and suspenseful gasps later, the crowd went wild and the screen went black.  As the lights came on I was overjoyed to see a friendly face, it was Carina Mackenzie!  Most of you may know her better as @CadlyMack on twitter.  Carina was our question commentator for the event.  Who better to ask the question than a friend of the cast and someone who is so involved with fans?

Below you can see Questions and answers that were posted live during the panel by

A very special THANKS to both sources for the great content!

Q&A Courtesy of Vampire Eyes Online

Have we seen the worst of Katherine? No, absolutely not. Next week a Super game changer.

Future for Bonnie?  Julie Plec hints that Bonnie could be getting a love triangle of her own with someone she already knows & a new face.

Julie & Kevin originally wanted Zach Roerig for Tyler Lockwood but he wanted to play Matt, the good guy.

How long will Katherine be around? Kat will be around for a while "until she's not" Kevin Williamson.

Steven R. McQueen on Jeremy: Jeremy was meant to go through a lot of loss. He mans up & starts to embrace his destiny. Jeremy feels like a monster inside...expect him to fight back

How do you feel about Elena/Stefan blood sharing? Stefan feeding off Elena is like a twisted monogamy commitment. Julie Plec

What is coming up for Bonnie? Bonnie being the odd man out, fighting w/ Elena & figuring out how they can agree to disagree

Julie & Kevin: We don't have a real Wiccan consultant for Bonnie. "We Google, we Bing, we Witch Wikipedia"

Have we seen the last of John Gilbert? John Gilbert will be back! "There's too much potential there -- there's great story left there to mine. He's Elena's father!!"

Sidebar: Kev loves David Anders -- he wants him back -- tons of potential

Damon's love life: I think by the time the show is over, Damon will have had sex with every man, woman and child in Mystic Falls. Julie (we are sure some of this is a joke)

Will Jeremy and Katherine have scenes together? Yes, Jeremy and Katherine are about to have a big face-off in the next few episodes.

Who drew the Wolf?
Most of Jeremy's drawings are Steven's own drawings.

Difference in Book vs Show?
I'm not a four year girl in the show.  McQueen

Who might make a comeback? Lexi

Kevin Williamson added: Witches and vamps don't get along; vamps use and abuse them all through history.

Sidebar:
Julie & Kevin weren't originally sure if the actress who played Elena would also play Katherine. Double Nina FTW! She also thinks Stefan feeding off Elena is like a twisted monogamy commitment.

Kevin Williamson on more Katherine this year? Kat is "delicious" and I want her mystique to remain.  I don't want her in every show/scene.

What Steven likes about his character?
I love that Jeremy's got mental issues b/c he has some screws loose.

Kat Graham on Bonnie:
She isn't cruel, but confused, scared, strong and willing to call Damon on his crap!

Zach talks Elena and Matt: Matt is over Elena, but probably wouldn't mind getting her back.

Zach talks everyday life for Matt
: He's  trying to pay the bills, busing tables, eating Easy Mac and a can of peas and keeping his truck running.

@PopWrap -Biggest spoiler from press room: episode eight is Katherine's backstory. We go to Romania, circa 1492.

Steven on Tyler and Jeremy being buds: Jeremy & tyler have a friendship but he's also using Tyler's ability to his advantage

Thanks to the Comic Con signing event, not only did I get the wonderful experience of meeting the very talented cast of TVD, as well as Jenny (@PinkPuff20), Jessica (@JessiVanessi), and Ariel (@Ariellaura914), all of whom I've known for quite some time thanks to Twitter, but yet again I met another great fan of the show. Melissa (@WhoaMellyNYC) was kind enough to have Jenny and I join her in line for the signing to assure we would be one of the only 150 people to meet the cast.

Each with their own charming personalities made this a memorable event and were kind enough to sign more then what they were supposed to.  Julie and Kevin handpicked a truly phenomenal cast and the bond they have formed together shows itself clearly.

ALL photo's on this page are courtesy of @JessiVanessi @Ariellaura914, and @PinkPuff20.  Thank you ladies!

If this teaser doesn't scream HEART ATTACK, I'm not sure what would.  Katherine and Mason?! Does he trust her?  Elena and Katherine?! Will Elena ever be ahead of her?  And what it is exactly that Jenna's missing? Will she find out? So many unanswered questions.  The series returns October 21, 2010.
