Susan was born on September 28, 1963 in Atlanta, Georgia, and is an
American actress, known for her role as Diane Newman in
the CBS soap opera “The Young and the Restless” (Y&R in USA), who began her career in
1983, when she got a role on the soap opera “Loving”
as Lorna Forbes, she also appeared on “Elvis and Me” as Priscilla Presley in
1988, on “Dear John” as Mary
Beth in 1990, She also got a guest role on “CSI:
Miami” and is also known for her appearance on “One Tree Hill” as Principal
Rimkus and her starring role as Anne Osborne in the
television version of “The Big Easy”. Her latest appearance is on “The
Vampire Diaries” as Mrs. Carol Lockwood.

After Susan’s success on “The Young and the Restless”,
she received the call to be part of “The
Vampire Diaries” cast, as Carol Lockwood, yes
Mayor’s wife and mother of our favorite werewolf in disguise Tyler.
Carol is kind of a
snobbish woman, member of The Founder’s Council of Mystic Falls. She and
her husband Mayor Lockwood, have a very strained and hostile
relationship, they’re constantly at each other’s throats like a pair of
angry wolves, familiar attitude? Well, we had the opportunity to see
this behavior during the show.
We could say that
this lady might be a bad influence on her son Tyler and that his
negative behavior comes from her bitchiness, attitude that we saw when
she tried to hit on Damon and get that date with him during the fund
raiser at the grill, and of course when it came to Vicki, Tyler’s
girlfriend at the beginning of the show.
However, during the
season finale, she showed for the first time that, even when she acts
like she doesn’t care about her family, specially about her husband, she
proved us wrong, she really cares about him, and it was pretty obvious
when he is knocked out by the device used to attack vampires and she was
right there standing beside him, worried and trying to find someone to
help him.
Now the question is,
how is she going to deal with her husband’s death?
Or a better question
is,
How is she going to do
to deal with her son’s new behavior?
Is she going to count
on Ty’s uncle?
