Matt Donovan is a good natured and a responsible person who has recently broken up with Elena Gilbert. Although he would rather be alone, he has his sister, Vicki, and his mother, Kelly Donovan. His father has never been mentioned, and they seemed to like it that way. With his mother an alcoholic and his sister a drug user, he continues to pick up the slack for everyone around him. Although he does not associate with his family, he surrounds himself with his friends; Elena Gilbert, Tyler Lockwood, Stefan Salvatore, Bonnie Bennett and Caroline Forbes. He is also a proud member of the Mystic Falls Timberwolves football team and is there quarterback.
Zach Roerig was born on February 22, 1985 in Montpelier Ohio, to his mother and father, Andrea and Daniel Roerig. He has a younger sister named Emily, who was born in 1989. He graduated from Montpelier High School, where he played football and wrestling. When he was growing up, he worked with his father and grandfather at the family business. The business was called; ‘Fackler’ Monuments were they made gravestones.
Roerig began his acting career when he was 19 years old. He can be seen in TV shows such as
“Law and Order”, “Reba”, “One Life to Live”, and “Guiding Light”.
He can also be seen it the hit flick “Friday Night Lights”.
